StorageGRID node fails to boot post major upgrade - fingerprint does not match error

Issue

  1. After upgrading Storage GRID nodes from version 11.8.0.7 to 11.9.0.7, node is in an "administratively down" state.
  2. Attempts to reboot the node from StorageGRID manager result in errors such as "Unable to connect to NODE_NAME on port 22: fingerprint SSH_KEY does not match for NODE_NAME IP ADDRESS" and "authentication to root@NODE_NAME failed"
  3. When connected via serial console, the following log errors were observed:

    [2025-09-10 01:54:37 +00:00 SGA] INFO -- No paths connected yet. Last updated at: 1757469219
    [2025-09-10 01:56:37 +00:00 SGA] INFO -- No paths connected yet. Last updated at: 1757469339
    [2025-09-10 01:58:37 +00:00 SGA] INFO -- No paths connected yet. Last updated at: 1757469460
