StorageGRID installation failing at Configure volumes stage with RETCODE ERROR

Issue

  • StorageGRID Monitor Installation page reports Configure volumes stage Failed with Error RETCODE_ERROR while requesting volume group creation candidates.

  • Following the volume creation and initialization, in storage-array-profile.txt > Disk Pools show no disk pools created:

  • All 60 drives are Optimal and in Unassigned state.
  • MEL Events records Secret Key Unknown following volume creation:
