StorageGRID SGF6112 installation failing due to missing disks

Issue

  • The affected storage node is in pre-GRID environment (PGE) state and cannot complete installation.
  • Error observed during new installation: "One or more drives are missing or unresponsive, and there aren't enough good drives to locate and boot an existing StorageGRID installation. You must correct this condition. The missing or unresponsive drives are HDD0X"
  • In LumberjackPGE logs > /tmp/lumberjack/PGE:
  • sgalocalstoragetool.log reports no drive found: 

2025-04-08|12:47:41|notice|load_g_slot_to_bdev  | 2275| no drive found for slot HDD04

  • sgalst-last-recovery.json reports two missing drives in two bays:
