Applies to

  • NetApp StorageGRID Appliances
    • NetApp StorageGRID SGF6112 (61TB Samsung BM1743 SSD, BMC FW 3.16.07)
    • NetApp StorageGRID SG1100 (1.9TB Samsung SSD, BMC FW 3.16.07)
  • StorageGRID OS 11.9, 12.0

Issue

After powering on SGF6112 and SG1100 nodes with Samsung SSDs, the Status/Fault LEDs do not behave as expected.
  • Expected: Status/Fault LEDs remain on (blue for online, amber for fault) per documentation.

  • Observed:
    • On Samsung SSDs, the LED turns on briefly after power-on and then turns off.
    • On Solidigm SSDs: LED remains on as expected.
    • Mixed node behavior: Some nodes have all SSD LEDs lit, while others have all LEDs off, despite having identical firmware and hardware.
