Issue

  • When accessing the SANtricity System Manager Web UI, users encounter persistent loading issues. The UI either displays a continuous spinning animation or the error:

Data Could Not be Loaded from Storage Array

  • Attempts to resolve the issue by doing below are only temporarily successful (UI accessible for ~10 minutes), then the issue recurred.:
  1. Clearing /msw_data/bdb folder and restarting the msw service
  2. Firmware upgrade
  3. Direct laptop connection to controller management port
  • ASUP logs and controller webserver logs show a flood of connect/disconnect events and excessive REST API GET requests.

Example iSCSI session logs:

NOTE: Newconn: ... iqn.2016-04.com.open-iscsi:6eXXXbe6XaXX ...
NOTE: Closingconn: ... reason: TcpFinRcvd
NOTE: SessionTimer:CloseSession ... Time2Retain timer of 20 seconds expired.
Most connect/disconnect events are traced to host gxxx-lxx-bxxxxxx (Linux DM-MP, iSCSI initiator: iqn.2016-04.com.open-iscsi:6eXXXbe6XaXX).
