Is it required to limit object-related API operations in order to enable Improved Read Availability?

  • Upgrading StorageGRID from 11.6 to 11.7
  • Improved Read Availability is disabled before upgrading
  • Improved Read Availability disabled alert pops up after upgrading
  • Running the below script to enable Improved Read Availability:
/usr/local/mgmt-api/app/scripts/improved-get-head-availability.rb --improve

Answer

  • It is not a MUST to limit the object-related API operations while running the above script.
  • As a best practice, it is better to control object-related workload during the upgrade operation.
