GRID node stuck in PGE after compute controller replacement with KMS configured

  • NetApp StorageGRID appliances
  • Key Management Server (KMS) encryption is configured

Issue

After performing a compute controller replacement, the node will boot into PGE and repeat the following prompt.
  • HO 0.0.0.0 -- 0.0.0.0
The following errors can be found in the /var/log/syslog
  • Failed to verify TLS connectivity with <KMS IP>
  • Network is unreachable
  • KMS connectivity check failed
  • Decryption of disk failed. Not booting StorageGRID not resetting access
  • Failed to get SG OS LUN path. Device /dev/mapper/StorageGRID-SG-OS exists but the decryption target /dev/mapper/decryption-StorageGRID-SG-OS does not exist
