Issue

  • Continuous high CPU usage (close to or at 100%) observed on (multiple) StorageGRID nodes where the main source of high CPU usage is Cassandra.
  • StorageGRID UI may report the following alerts and self-resolve:
    • Cassandra communication error
    • Cassandra auto-compactor error
    • Unable to communicate with node for jmx service
  • Running grep ComparableTimSort.ensureCapacity /var/local/log/cassandra/jstack/jstack.log | wc -l on a affected node shows a high amount (hundreds)
