Can you split StorageGRID and SANtricity OS upgrades to multiple maintenance windows
Applies to
- NetApp StorageGRID Hotfixes and Upgrades
- SANtricity OS Upgrades via GRID Manager
Answer
Yes. It is safe to break up the StorageGRID and SANtricity OS upgrades if required due to limited maintenance windows, since the nodes upgrade one at a time.
To attempt to limit the number of node upgrades to fit in the maintenance window, consider only Approving the nodes that are ready to be stopped and rebooted.

Important Note: Running mismatched versions over a time span does not impact production or the functionality of the StorageGRID, however, it is not typically recommended as best practice.
