Answer

No, there is currently no supported method to securely erase or sanitize boot media (SATADOM/NVSRAM) or BMC on NetApp StorageGRID or E-Series appliances.

Additional Information

  • If the appliance is being decommissioned permanently, the only supported method is to physically remove and destroy the boot media (SATADOM/NVSRAM) and BMC modules to ensure all sensitive data is unrecoverable.
