Answer

Yes, StorageGRID upgrades can be performed safely even when node capacity utilization exceeds 80%.  As upgrades are primarily dependent on overall grid utilization.
 
NoteIf storage capacity is nearing full utilization, expanding storage before the upgrade is recommended; otherwise, complete the upgrade promptly and monitor capacity closely to minimize operational risk.
