StorageGRID SSO sandbox test fails with Error Code: 500 after AD FS login page

  • AD FS 4.0 (Windows Server 2016)

Issue

  1. SSO is set to sandbox mode.
  2. The correct configuration has been entered and validated as per Configuring Single sign-on.
  3. When visiting the identity providers sign-on page, the site/login page appears.
  4. SSO Credentials are entered.
  5. After authentication page displays:

Error Code: 500 "A configuration or network error is preventing authentication. See logs for details or contact Technical Support."
