What network does StorageGRID use to transmit AutoSupport messages?
Applies to
NetApp StorageGRID
Answer
- StorageGRID utilized standard network routing techniques that are automatically generated for each individual node based on the following:
- If no client network (eth2) is configured on the node, the Grid network (eth0) is the default route.
- If client network (eth2) is configured, then it becomes the default route.
- AutoSupport messages are transmitted from StorageGRID admin node using the standard routes explained above.
Additional Information
- StorageGRID includes support to configure custom network routes (Subnets) if certain traffic needs to be routed using a specific network interface (admin, grid or client)
- To add a route for the admin network so it can be the default interface trasmitting AutoSupport messages, use the
change-ip
tool.- Under option

, you can add support.netapp.com IP address (216.240.21.18/32
) and/or proxy server (optional)
