NetApp StorageGRID

Answer

  • StorageGRID utilized standard network routing techniques that are automatically generated for each individual node based on the following:
    • If no client network (eth2) is configured on the node, the Grid network (eth0) is the default route.
    • If client network (eth2) is configured, then it becomes the default route.
  • AutoSupport messages are transmitted from StorageGRID admin node using the standard routes explained above.

Additional Information

  • StorageGRID includes support to configure custom network routes (Subnets) if certain traffic needs to be routed using a specific network interface (admin, grid or client)
  • To add a route for the admin network so it can be the default interface trasmitting AutoSupport messages, use the change-ip tool.
    • Under option 3, you can add support.netapp.com IP address (216.240.21.18/32) and/or proxy server (optional)
