Answer

During a period of silence alert notification:
  • Notification via email and SNMP for the alert is suppressed
  • Event-triggered AutoSupport is suppressed
  • Alerts that are detected during a period can be confirmed as Silenced status via Alerts > Current in Grid Manager by selecting All alerts or Silenced
