StorageGRID reports External syslog server forwarding error due to bad certificate

  • External syslog server using TLS certificates

Issue

  • StorageGRID UI reports External syslog server forwarding error on all nodes.
  • Additional alerts persists as a symptom of the audit logs not forwarding:
    • Logs being added to the on-disk memory queue
    • Audit logs being added to the in-memory queue
  • Admin node(s) may also report Unable to communicate with node with chunk service unresponsive.

  • /var/local/log/miscd.log intermittently records failed connections for Bad Certificate.

  • /var/local/log/miscd.log intermittently records successful connections with No Errors Detected.
