  • StorageGRID appliances using E-Series back-end storage

Issue

After performing a controller firmware upgrade on E-Series storage systems, an AutoSupport alert is generated:

ESFTDC: E-Series Notification from <system> (Core dump has been captured) INFO
  • Multiple systems may experience the issue around the same time, especially during StorageGRID node preparation or deployment.
  • Core dumps are captured, and system logs indicate controller reboots and watchdog timeout events.
  • Example log output:
    [AutoSupport] Core dump has been captured[Event] Watchdog timeout during SAS discovery after controller reboot
