Applies to
NetApp StorgaeGRID Appliances using LACP
Issue
- One or multiple HIC ports stop working or are down on nodes with LACP bonding enabled.
- Partner state also reports being churned:
cat /proc/net/bonding/bond0
Slave Interface: hic4MII Status: downSpeed: 10000 MbpsDuplex: fullLink Failure Count: 1Permanent HW addr: 00:aa:aa:aa:aa:aaSlave queue ID: 0Aggregator ID: 1Actor Churn State: nonePartner Churn State: churned- We can also check
syslog/kern.login the BaseOS if the port is churned to see why it went to that state. -
The following output can be found in a StorageGRID, lumberjack, log from the node.
cat /proc/net/bonding/bond0ethtool -S <hicx>ethtool -m <hicx>ip -br link show
- StorageGRID may report alert:
Appliance LACP port missing A port on a StorageGRID appliance is not participating in the LACP bond. Critical Bond interface bond0
