Issue

  • When applying a hotfix in Grid Manager, the upgraded appliance node displays an alert message: "Appliances SANtricity OS software update required." At this time, other appliance nodes have not yet clicked the "Approve" button to proceed with the hotfix upgrade.
  • On the alert details page, the customer clicks the "SANtricity OS update page" under "Recommended actions".

  • The customer uploads the correct SANtricity OS Upgrade File in SANtricity OS update page when other appliance nodes not yet apply hotfix. Immediately, the page displays the error: "Failed to load the installer file: Software update installer file cannot be uploaded when an update is already in progress." Furthermore, the page displays a Hotfix file instead of the uploaded SANtricity OS file.

  • Returning to Maintenance -> Software update reveals that the upgrade buttons are grayed out for GRID OS and Hotfix, preventing the Hotfix upgrade from proceeding.
  • And the Software update page reports an error: An error occurred during the most recent SANtricity OS upgrade. You must retry the SANtricity OS upgrade before you can apply a hotfix or upgrade to a new StorageGRID release. If you cannot upgrade SANtricity OS, contact technical support.
