- No changes occur to core tenant usage metrics, including
storagegrid_tenant_usage_data_bytes. - Metric names, labels, value definitions, and calculation methods remain unchanged after the upgrade.
- Existing monitoring, dashboards, and alerting configurations that rely on tenant usage metrics continue to work without modification.
- StorageGRID 12.1 introduces new Prometheus metrics for:
- Global Namespace functionality (for example,
storagegrid_s3_wrong_signing_region_requests) - Erasure Coding (EC) decommission operations (for example,
storagegrid_vcscopy_*)
- Global Namespace functionality (for example,
- Grid Manager performance charts are migrated to a Prometheus-based user interface.
- The Prometheus metrics API and metric retrieval methods remain unchanged.
- Private metrics are not guaranteed to remain stable and may change without notice between releases.
Note: The new metrics introduced in StorageGRID 12.1 do not affect existing tenant usage metrics or monitoring implementations.
