Answer

  • No changes occur to core tenant usage metrics, including storagegrid_tenant_usage_data_bytes.
  • Metric names, labels, value definitions, and calculation methods remain unchanged after the upgrade.
  • Existing monitoring, dashboards, and alerting configurations that rely on tenant usage metrics continue to work without modification.
  • StorageGRID 12.1 introduces new Prometheus metrics for:
    • Global Namespace functionality (for example, storagegrid_s3_wrong_signing_region_requests)
    • Erasure Coding (EC) decommission operations (for example, storagegrid_vcscopy_*)
  • Grid Manager performance charts are migrated to a Prometheus-based user interface.
  • The Prometheus metrics API and metric retrieval methods remain unchanged.
  • Private metrics are not guaranteed to remain stable and may change without notice between releases.
Note: The new metrics introduced in StorageGRID 12.1 do not affect existing tenant usage metrics or monitoring implementations.
