StorageGRID SG6160 reports Storage appliance storage connectivity degraded or unknown

Issue

  • SG6100 uses a storage interconnect port 100 GbE, connected to 4x25GbE iSCSI breakout cable.
  • StorageGRID Grid Manager reports the following alert:
Storage appliance storage connectivity degraded
There is a problem with one or more connections between the compute controller and storage controller.
Or:

Unable to communicate with node

  • SANtricity System Manager > Hardware > Show Back of Shelf > Controller > Show Settings > Host Ports show port(s) DOWN.
  • In ASUP > storage-array-profile > controllers reports link status on affected port(s) as disconnected:
Host interface: iSCSI
Host Interface Card(HIC): Baseboard
Channel: 2 
Port: e0b
Link status: Disconnected    
 
  • In ASUP > state-capture-data.txt > ionShow99 > chall 0 reports no connection to affected port(s):
