What secondary backups are available if SnapMirror is temporarily disabled?
Applies to
- SnapCenter Plug-in for VMware vSphere (SCV)
- Disable Update SnapMirror after backup option in backup policy during a few backups and re-enable the option
Answer
Only secondary backups created using backup policy with enabling Update SnapMirror after backup are available for restoration
Additional Information
- If SCV backup is run using backup policy with disabling the option, SnapMirror update is not run.
After re-enabling the option, whether the previous Snapshot copies are copied to destination volume depends on SnapMirror policy.
If SnapMirror policy has all_source_snapshots rule, the previous Snapshot copies are copied to destination volume.
