Unable to add database to SCSQL resource group due to NDF not being on NetApp storage

Applies to

  • SnapCenter Plug-in for Microsoft SQL Server (SCSQL)
  • Database MDF files and logs LDF files are in LUN on ONTAP
  • Database NDF files are in a different Windows drive from MDF and LDF

Issue

  • Overall Status of database in Resources on SnapCenter GUI is Not available for backup
  • Clicking the database in Resources shows error:

Not available for backup. DB is not on NetApp storage, auto-close is enabled or in recovery mode.

  • New Resource Group and Modify Resource Group screens do not show the database as a resource
