  • SnapCenter Server
  • SnapCetner Plug-in for SQL (SCSQL)
  • SnapCetner Plug-in for Windows (SCW)
  • SnapCenter Plug-in for VMware vSphere (SCV)
  • SCV is registered on SnapCenter Server
  • All other host plug-ins on SnapCenter server are stopped.

Answer

There is no particular impact.

  • Registering SCVs with SnapCenter Server is required if backup targets of SCSQL, SCW and other host plug-ins are virtual machines.
    • This is part of Host plug-ins side backup.
  • SCV can operate stand-alone, and all information necessary for stand-alone operation is maintained on SCV side.
  • If all host plug-ins are no longer needed, SnapCenter Server can be stopped without any impact on SCV.
