SnapCenter is unable to discover system or root partition on Linux host

Issue

  • SnapCenter is unable to discover the system or root partition on a Linux host where the SnapCenter Plug-in for Unix File Systems is installed.
  • SnapCenter is able to discover non-system and non-root partitions on the same Linux host.

The following errors and messages are seen in the spl_<JobID_Date_Time>.log for the resource discovery job:

DEBUG: SCUPlugin: SCU::HostStorage::OS::Linux::_load_fstab_info(): Ignoring the mount point: /
DEBUG: SCUPlugin: SCU::HostStorage::OS::Linux::_load_fstab_info(): Ignoring the mount point: /boot

ERROR qtp1336881831-24 c.n.p.s.m.DiscoverSmcoreScuMapper - SCU-LOG-00634: Auto discovery failed for file system '/' with error Filesystem '/' is a native file system and is not supported.
ERROR qtp1336881831-24 c.n.p.s.m.DiscoverSmcoreScuMapper - SCU-LOG-00634: Auto discovery failed for file system '/boot' with error Filesystem '/boot' is a native file system and is not supported.
