SnapCenter SQL log backup failed with error: The operating system returned error 21

Windows event viewer shows:Volume L:\<DB> (\Device\HarddiskVolume119) requires an Online Scan.  An Online Scan will automatically run as part of the next scheduled maintenance task.  Alternatively you may run "CHKDSK /SCAN" locally via the command line, or run "REPAIR-VOLUME <drive:> -SCAN" locally or remotely via PowerShell.

SnapCenter SMSQL log shows:
ERROR SmSql_567814 PID=[4032] TID=[163] The operating system returned error 21(The device is not ready.) to SQL Server during a read at offset 0x00000000018000 in file 'L:file path'. Additional messages in the SQL Server error log and system event log may provide more detail. This is a severe system-level error condition that threatens database integrity and must be corrected immediately. Complete a full database consistency check (DBCC CHECKDB). This error can be caused by many factors; for more information, see SQL Server Books Online
