SnapCenter Fails to Run PowerShell Pre/Post Scripts – “Run prescripts failed to execute” with Script Error Code 1

Issue

When attempting to run PowerShell scripts as pre- or post-scripts in a SnapCenter backup job, the scripts execute successfully when run manually from the SnapCenter server. However, when invoked by a SnapCenter job, they fail. The following error is observed in the job logs:

Run prescripts failed to execute. Prescript exited with script error code: 1, script error message: Batch file does not create

  • No output file is created by the script when run by SnapCenter, but it works as expected when run manually.
