Scheduled SCE backup jobs don't run in DAG environment

Applies to

  • SnapCenter Server (SC) 
  • SnapCenter Plug-in for Microsoft Exchange Server (SCE) 
  • Database Availability Group (DAG)


  • Scheduled backups fail to trigger and there is no job created in SC
  • SCE scheduled backup task is not present in Windows Task Scheduler for all the nodes in the DAG or, due to restrictions in the environment or storage, DAG nodes are added as standalone hosts in SC
  • Error seen in SMCoreService.log when the job is scheduled to run:

DEBUG SMCore PID=[824] TID=[8] It's a cluster scheduled request <host_FQDN>, <hostname> is not the owner of <DAG_name>
ERROR SMCore PID=[824] TID=[8] Invalid scheduler request, not triggering backup schedule
DEBUG SMCore PID=[824] TID=[8] End StartScheduleBackup
