SCV scheduled backup does not detect removed or modified VM in the resource group

Applies to

  • SnapCenter Plug-in for VMware vSphere (SCV) 4.4 or 4.5
  • Some entities in the resource group are removed or modified from vSphere Client

Issue

  • SCV scheduled backup is succeeded without any errors or warnings even though SCV cannot take backup some entities.
  • Attempting backup by selecting Run Now fails by the following error.

Could not find atleast one of the entity to backup. Please edit the resource group and then perform the run now operation.

SCV scheduled backup does not detect removed

  • Edit Resource Group page shows the entity as "!" with message "Following entities could not be added to resource group".
