SCV fails to restore VM due to Server Error caused by SocketTimeoutException

Issue

  • Restore job fails by error Exception while calling restore on SCV: Error occured while calling SCV: Server Error

  • wfe_<JOB_ID>.log indicates the same error

DEBUG <SCV> --- [pool-3-thread-1] c.n.w.r.u.RestClientUtil                 : Connecting to scv url:  https://localhost:8144/scbr/smcoreplugin/restore
ERROR <SCV> --- [pool-3-thread-1] c.n.w.r.SCSClientImpl                    : Error occured while calling SCV: Server Error
ERROR <SCV> --- [pool-3-thread-1] c.n.w.r.SCVRestoreTasksServiceImpl       : Exception while calling restore on SCV: Error occured while calling SCV: Server Error

  • vmcontrol_jetty_server.log indicates exception:java.net.SocketTimeoutException: connect timed out

WARN  SCV org.eclipse.jetty.server.HttpChannel handleException /scbr/smcoreplugin/restore java.rmi.RemoteException: VI SDK invoke exception:java.net.SocketTimeoutException: connect timed out
