SCV fails to find and detach disk during End Guest File Restore session job

Issue

  • End Guest File Restore session job gets Warning:

Could not find attached disk with path: <UUID>. Ended session without detaching disk or unmounting datastore

  • vmcontrol.log indicates attached disk is not found while ending Guest File Restore session

DEBUG <SCV> --- [     Thread-187] c.n.a.s.SFRManager                       : [JobId:176] Checking vm for connected disk <UUID>
DEBUG <SCV> --- [     Thread-187] c.n.a.s.SFRManager                       : [JobId:176] Check if snapshotted disk was connected to vm
DEBUG <SCV> --- [     Thread-187] c.n.a.s.SFRManager                       : [JobId:176] Could not find attached disk with path: <UUID>
..
Could not find attached disk with path: <UUID>. Ended session without detaching disk or unmounting datastore

  • Create Guest File Restore session job that attached the disk completed successfully
  • Unable to detach disk manually without removing the VM from inventory
