SCV backups that were previously successful now fail with the error "Task 'Discovering Resources' failed"

SnapCenter Plug-in for VMware vSphere (SCV)

Issue

SCV backup, which had previously succeeded, now fails with the following error.

 

The backup job 3874 has completed on primary

Status: failed

Task failures

Task 'Discovering Resources' failed with error: Unable to discover resources on SCV: Unable to get storage details for datastore (datastore) with managed object reference datastore-(id). Storage system(s) may need to be added, also ensure that the associated host is in a connected state.
