SCV Plug-in is not visible under vSphere Client with DocumentException error

Applies to

  • SnapCenter Plug-in for VMware vSphere (SCV)
  • Specified vCenter user has Administrator role (e.g. administrator@vsphere.local)
  • There is no problem with compatibility

Issue

  • SnapCenter Plug-in for VMware vSphere is not visible under vSphere Client menu after deploying SCV OVA
  • vmcontrol.log on SCV host shows error:

DEBUG scvhost --- [      Thread-10] c.n.a.v.VsphereService                   : VI SDK invoke exception:org.dom4j.DocumentException: Error on line 1 of document  : Content is not allowed in prolog.
DEBUG scvhost --- [      Thread-10] c.n.a.m.DatastoreStorageDetailsCache     : Exception caused while populating Dashboard Cache
ERROR scvhost --- [      Thread-10] c.n.a.m.DatastoreStorageDetailsCache     : java.rmi.RemoteException: VI SDK invoke exception:org.dom4j.DocumentException: Error on line 1 of document  : Content is not allowed in prolog.
