SCV 4.8 fails to edit resource group or run job manually by HTTP 401 after upgrading

Applies to

  • SnapCenter Plug-in for VMware (SCV) 4.8, 4.9
  • SCV is upgraded from 4.5 or earlier version
  • VM(s) had been added to the Resource Group(s) in SCV 4.5 or earlier and they had not been modified since then

Issue

  • Unable to modify resource group by error after updating SCV to version 4.8 or 4.9

[401] This request Back to login screen requires HTTP

SCV 4.8 fails to edit resource group or run job manually by HTTP 401

  • Selecting the OK box then shows some or all of the VMs selected in the resource group with exclamation marks("!"):

VM(s) had been added to the Resource Group(s) in SCV 4.5

  • Manual backup by Run Now also fails

Failed to run resource group.
[401] This request Back to login screen requires HTTP

SCV is upgraded from 4.5 or earlier version
