SCSQL Clone fails with "Failed to refresh clone. The file failed to initialize"

  • SnapCenter Plug-in for SQL.

Issue

SnapCenter Clone job fails with the following error message:
 
"Failed to refresh the clone. The file "Database_Name" failed to initialize. RESTORE DATABASE is terminating abnormally."
 
 
SQL error logs show the following error message: 
 
Error  <SQL_host name>    <Instance_name>  FCB::Open failed: Could not open file X:\scmnpt\mpdiskXXX\I<Instace_Name>\DB_path\database.mdf for file number 1.  OS error: 32(The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.).
 
Note that the backup portion of the job completes successfully.
