Applies to

  • SnapCenter Plug-in for Oracle (SCO) 6.1Px
  • Oracle Database files (archive logs) on NFS with RAC setup

Issue

Attempting to backup the archive logs, the following error message is seen:
SCO-WRN-2001: Archived log file /oracle/[SID]/archivelog/[DATE]/[ARCHIVE-LOG-NAME] does not exist in the active file system.
The archived log file versions earlier than /oracle/[SID]/archivelog/[DATE]/[ARCHIVE-LOG-NAME]  file is not included in the backup.

  • Those files are actually where it fails to find then.
  • The SCO plugin (i.e. the SPL service) is running with a non-root user that is not the oracle client user (owner of sqlplus).
  • The archive log directory is only listable by the owner/group i.e. the "oracle" client user who owns it.
