SCC Plug-in based Restore from Mirror Destination fails with Object reference error

  • SnapCenter Server 6.0, 6.0.1 and 6.1
  • SnapCenter Plug-in for SAP HANA (SCHANA) of same or earlier supported version
  • SnapCenter Plug-in for Custom Creator (SCC) Plugins

Issue

When attempting to recover an SCC Plug-in Database from secondary:
  • SnapMirror (MirrorAllSnapshots policy) destination, if the primary volume is unusable
  • SnapVault (vault or mirror-vault policy) destination, if the primary volume is unusable or when the data needs to be older than still available on Primary
the SnapMirrorRestore that runs in the SnapCenter Server's SMCore Service fails with the following error message in SMCoreService.log:
ErrorCode (-1), ErrorMessage (Object reference not set to an instance of an object.)
Exit SnapMirrorRestore
