SCC Sybase Plug-in 1.0 backups cannot properly quiesce Sybase Databases

  • SnapCenter Server (SC) 4.0 and higher
  • SnapCenter Plug-in for Creator (SCC) 4.0 and higher
  • Automation Store Sybase 1.0 Plug-in
  • Sybase (16.0 SP4 PL05) or higher (Windows or Linux)


  • After Sybase ASE upgrade to version SnapCenter is unable to backup the databases any more
    • It quiesces the first database successful but it returns failure in SnapCenter.
SCC-00164: Application quiesce for the plug-in SYBASE failed with exit code 1 and with error : Process 23 successfully executed QUIESCE DATABASE with HOLD option for tag tagname_GWD. Processes trying to issue an I/O operation on the quiesced database(s) will be suspended until the user executes a QUIESCE DATABASE command with the RELEASE option.
  • After this SnapCenter identifies the action as failed.
