Exchange backup fails on one host after upgrade to SnapCenter 6.0

  • Data ONTAP Hardware Provider service (navssprv)

Issue

After upgrading SC and SCE plug-ins to 6.0, Exchange backups are failing on 1 SCE host with the following error messages seen:
 
  • SMCore_<JobID>_<Date_Time>.log
 
ERROR SMCore_<JobID> PID=[xxxx] TID=[xx] ErrorCode (-1), ErrorMessage (Error: Failed to add to snapshot set. [<Path>] [Error Code: -2147212538] [VSS_E_PROVIDER_VETO] [Error Code: -2147212538] [VSS_E_PROVIDER_VETO] Possible solution: Please check if there is adequete space available on the LUNs.)
 
ERROR SMCore_<JobID> PID=[xxxx] TID=[xx] Activity - Creating Backup, Failed with error : Error: Failed to add to snapshot set. [<Path>] [Error Code: -2147212538] [VSS_E_PROVIDER_VETO] [Error Code: -2147212538] [VSS_E_PROVIDER_VETO] Possible solution: Please check if there is adequete space available on the LUNs.

Activity 'Renaming VSS Snapshot' failed with error: Skip renaming snapshot.
Activity 'Creating Snapshot copy for log backup' failed with error: Skip creating snapshot on log LUN,
Activity 'Registering Backup and Applying Retention' failed with error: Failed to register backup metadata, backup metadata is null or empty.
Activity 'Up To The Minute Retention' failed with error: Skip UTM retention.
Activity 'Starting Exchange Backup' failed with error: The following activities failed:Creating Backup,Renaming VSS Snapshot,Creating Snapshot copy for log backup,Registering Backup and Applying Retention,Up To The Minute Retention,Grouping Resources. Please check the activities for detailed error
