Can SCV configuration settings be inherited to newer version SCV appliance?

Answer

No, configuration settings cannot be inherited from the old SCV appliance to the new one.

Note:

  • Even if deploying new SCV appliance, manual restore can be performed from existing Snapshot copies on ONTAP.
  • Retention setting of new SCV does not delete existing Snapshot copies, so unnecessary Snapshot copies must be deleted using volume snapshot delete or ONTAP System Manager.
