Unable to create new LUNs via SCVMM/SMI-S Provider on ASA-C800

  • NetApp SMI-S provider (SMI-S) 5.2.7
  • Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM)
  • NetApp All San Array (ASA) with FC

Issue

  • Failed to create LUN after adding ASA system on SCVMM via SMI-S
  • Only existing volumes are seen but new volume i.e. storage pool creation option not available
  • As per NetApp documentation, ASA is not supported but Microsoft documentation do says it is
  • Pre created SAN Initiator groups with all initiator WWNs included doesnt work
  • cimsever_error:
