Issue

  • OTV appliance consumes very high CPU constantly.
  • vCenter shows the CPU usage going up even after increasing the CPU count
  • Gradually, the CPU usage will reach 100%

OTV appliance high CPU usage due to stale Hosed Items entries

 

  • From OTV shell, the top command shows the processes utilizing the CPU:
