Issue

  • ONTAP tools for VMware vSphere (OTV) locally scoped plugin reports storage backends as Degraded

  • When running the command system health alert show, it reports the following:

Node: <node name> 

Alert ID: UnsupportedSwitch_Alert

Resource: <name> 

Severity: Major

Indication Time: Thu Jul 31 08:14:26 2025

Suppress: false

Acknowledge: false

Probable Cause: Unsupported Ethernet switch is detected.

Possible Effect: Communication problems and network connectivity issues occur.

Corrective Actions: Unsupported Ethernet switch "<clustername>" found. Connect a supported Ethernet switch to the network.
