vVol datatores inaccessible after expired ONTAP storage certificate

Issue

  1. After an ONTAP certificate expired, vVol datastores managed by OTV appeared as “inaccessible” in VMware vSphere.
  2. Attempts to rediscover or rescan storage did not restore access.
  3. The VASA Provider was present in vCenter but not visible via ESXi CLI.
  4. The following was observed:

1. vVol datastores are inaccessible in vSphere.

2. VM workloads on vVols disconnected or dropped.

3. VASA Provider service running in OTV, but not registered with ESXi hosts.

4. OTV and ONTAP certificates had recently expired and were renewed.

5. Restarting the VASA Provider and rediscovery does not help.
