VASA Provider: FlexVols do not have a protocol endpoint LUN

Issue

  • One or more vVol datastores report the following alert:

Storage provider [NetApp-VP] raised an alert type 'Object' on vvol:### : FlexVols: [<flexvol name>] do not have a protocol endpoint LUN. This is not a supported configuration.

  • Existing VMs continue to run, but creating new VMs on the datastore(s) fails.
  • In the OTV Storage Systems menu, the storage system hosting the flexvol is listed as Unknown - <Cluster IP>.
  • The OTV Storage Systems menu may additionally report the storage system has an expired certificate.
