Issue

An Object Storage Alarm is repeatedly triggered on a vVol datastore. Attempts to clear the alarm by rebalancing the container fail with the following error in the OTV WebCLI:

Error-StorageFault: Message of Inconsistent vVol database multiple ID matches for UUid of naa.600a098038314b57345d554475593642 was not found. See Vpserver logs for more details.

Symptoms:

  • Object Storage Alarm on vVol
  • containerrebalance command fails with the above error
  • vVol backed by two FlexVols (one nearly full, the other partially full)
  • Orphaned LUN visible in ONTAP but not managed by vCenter
  • Alarm clears temporarily but returns after a few minutes
