How to reset VASA Provider and SRA database on OTV 9.12

Applies to

  • ONTAP Tools for VMware vSphere (OTV) 9.12 and later
  • Storage Replication Adapter (SRA) 9.12 and later
  • VASA Provider (VP) 9.12 and later

Description

WARNING

  • Only perform these steps if advised by NetApp support
  • The procedure will wipe all the data from the derby database, which can be imported again by re-adding the storage systems
  • The impact this may cause is that VVOL datastores will appear as inaccessible in vCenter, the actual existing connections will still be up but new connections cannot be made.
  • Note down the details of all storage systems before doing the reset (IP, username, password)
  • Always have a Virtual Machine snapshot of the OTV Appliance before performing this action
