  • NetApp ONTAP Tools for VMware vSphere (OTV) 9.x
  • NetApp Storage Replication Adapter (SRA) 9.x

Issue

During DR drill or failover/failback operations using VMware SRM with NetApp SRA/ONTAP Tools, the following errors are observed:

  1. SRM UI Error:

The operation was only partially completed for the protection group 'protection group name' since a protected VM belonging to it was not successful in completing the operation. Cannot protect virtual machine 'vm_name' because its config file '[Datastore name] vm_name/vm_name.vmx' is located on a non-replicated or non-protected datastore.

  2. SRM Array Pair Discovery:

Unable to find a matching device at the remote site for the local device '//DR-SVM/volume_name/lun_name'.
Unable to find a matching device at the local site for the remote device '//PR-SVM/volume_name/lun_name'.

  3. ONTAP System Manager Protection Page:

The relationship details couldn't be retrieved. A remote cluster or remote storage VM couldn't be reached, or a SnapMirror replication relationship was deleted but not released.

  4. SRA/OTV Plugin Errors:

    • “Could not retrieve Certificate from Keystore”
    • “SRA command ‘discoverDevices’ failed. Authentication failed. Invalid management IP address and/or invalid credentials.”
