SRM Reprotect Fails with error "XmlValidateException empty content is not valid for content model"

Issue

  1. SRM has Failed Over from the Protected Site to the Recovery Site.
  2. Every attempt to run a Reprotect fails in Step 2 with the following error.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    Failed to reverse replication for failed over devices. Internal error: class Dr::Xml::XmlValidateException "empty content is not valid for content model '(Error|(Success,Warnings)
  3. In the SRM log bundle, a log file named vmware-dr-###.log shows the below error
    2019-08-11T05:23:29.145-04:00 error vmware-dr[01408] [Originator@6876 sub=Recovery
    ctxID=7b2c7e75 opID=3bba436e] Plan 'PLAN_NAME' failed:
