Issue
- After a successful SRM failover from the protected site to the DR site, the subsequent SRM “Re-Protect” operation fails.
- The following error is reported in the SRM UI and logs:
Cannot protect virtual machine 'VM_NAME' because its configfile '[DATASTORE]VM_NAME/VM_NAME.vmx' is located on a non-replicated or non-protected datastore.
Relevant log output:
- SRM logs show timeouts:
Timed out waiting for replicated datastores after 300seconds. Received 0 out of 1 datastores.
- ONTAP logs show SnapMirror policy mismatch:
PATCH of record "uuid:..." failed. Reason: The source and destination clusters both have a policy named "Async-5min", but they have different properties.
- SnapMirror relationship is unhealthy or broken off.
