Applies to

  • NetApp ONTAP Tools for VMware vSphere (OTV) 9.x
  • VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM)
  • NetApp Storage Replication Adapter (SRA) 9.x

Issue

When running the discoverDevices operation in VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM), the following error is displayed for the array pair:

SRA command 'discoverDevices' failed. Address of the storage array is not reachable.
Storage array might be down or IP address entered might be incorrect.
Ensure that the storage array is up and running and the IP address of the storage array is reachable through the command line interface.

Additional Symptoms:

  • Existing discovered devices (SnapMirror relationships) may list their datastores as unknown in SRM.
  • Associated datastores to the discovered devices are not displaying in OTV's datastore report.
  • SRA is missing from the SRM Storage Replication Adapter page.
  • The storage system within OTV shows up in an unknown status despite the cluster certificate being updated in ONTAP.
